Talk:RepRapPro Mendel hot end assembly
Since the heater resistor is glass-coated and has an uneven surface I was reluctant to follow the advice to ream the heater block to fit it. Rubbing the resistor on a piece of glass sandpaper to give it a cylindrical shape was a one-minute affair, and it fit perfectly. Should we recommend that to people or are there known downsides to doing so?
Might want to mention that aluminum is a fairly soft metal and parts should not be over-torqued to avoid damaging the aluminum blocks.
